History of Agriculture
Chemical farming has become the past in the history of agriculture. Organic farming has taken over. Glaciers had left lots of rocks on the path behind them and agriculturists have discovered the utility of these rocks and have grinded them and mixed the residue back into the soil. This is called glacial dust .After a few experiments scientists noticed that this dust works as fertilizer.
Glacial gravel is the mix of all elements. As the history of agriculture has shown us that farming needs a lot of minerals like: phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium. But the crops out of this have been unbalanced. Farmers have discovered that if there is live growth of micro-organisms in the soil, the results are much better. We know about compost and also how fertile it is. It’s a same which happens in the glacial gravel. Bacteria under the glacial dust absorb minerals and built their protoplasm. Fungi, algae and bacteria along with other micro life are helpful in maintaining water, nutrients in the soil structure.
