It is a vicious cycle where environmental degradation is affecting agricultural productivity and agricultural practices are affecting the environment. To conclude agriculture, agricultural science and technology aids in reducing hunger, improving livelihood and increasing economic growth.

Indigenous and local agricultural practices need to be used along with scientific research and developments. There should be a co-ordination of international scientific programs for enhancing agriculture and agricultural produce. Policies and technologies that are conducive to sustainable use of natural resources must be shared internationally. It is imperative to alleviate hunger and look for the causes of nutritional insecurity and degraded natural resources. Productivity of crops, livestock and fisheries need to increased in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner which is acceptable to both the farmers as well as the consumers. Agriculture is an important aspect of every society for its social, economic and environmental growth.

This is a big economical and fundamental change in the history of agriculture. The crop which is grown chemically, have lesser minerals and nutrition as compared to organic crops which are substantially higher when compared in nutrition and minerals. In the case of glacial gravel, no pesticides are used which is economically more beneficial and obviously higher on nutrition and minerals.

Plants fertilized on rock dust produce a flavor and high nutrition content. As the history of agriculture shows us that almost all the top soils of the world lack a large of quantity of elements which results in bad crop. Lots of consumers and customers are going for organic farming. Scientists and agriculturists have changed the course of the history of agriculture by farming on the glacial gravel. All these innovations will take agriculture and humans places.

Back in 8000 B.C. the history of agriculture started from the banks of the Nile to Danube to the valley of Indus and Ganges has now come to laboratories and organic farms. In the coming decades, agriculture will grow and develop even faster than what the history of agriculture has shown us in the past.

Chemical farming has become the past in the history of agriculture. Organic farming has taken over. Glaciers had left lots of rocks on the path behind them and agriculturists have discovered the utility of these rocks and have grinded them and mixed the residue back into the soil. This is called glacial dust .After a few experiments scientists noticed that this dust works as fertilizer.

Glacial gravel is the mix of all elements. As the history of agriculture has shown us that farming needs a lot of minerals like: phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium. But the crops out of this have been unbalanced. Farmers have discovered that if there is live growth of micro-organisms in the soil, the results are much better. We know about compost and also how fertile it is. It’s a same which happens in the glacial gravel. Bacteria under the glacial dust absorb minerals and built their protoplasm. Fungi, algae and bacteria along with other micro life are helpful in maintaining water, nutrients in the soil structure.

History of agriculture starts way back in 8000BC. Man have settled in the valley of the Nile and along Danube in Europe and in the Indus- Ganga region. Along the year’s agriculture has grown to unbelievable limits and man has borne fruits of agriculture all along.

Now in recent times history of agriculture has taken a huge leap and gone high tech with all the machinery and biotechnology and genetics. There are scientists and agriculturist’s working day in and out for further progress in agriculture. Many things have become organic now, like crops, seeds, Fertilizers, and organic food and vegetables. Organic farming has now become very developed.

This is like going back 10000 years back in the history of agriculture. There are lots of regions of land and acres which have turned into rocks due to glaciers and nothing has grown on them since decades. In this case soil scientist have re minerised the soil and have been trying organic farming on such land. This means costly experiments and lots of time but organic farming is a good way to produce good products.

The history of agriculture has shown us a period where man started to clear up forests for light and killing animals that harmed their crops. So then came an efficient way of living which was under control and then they started settling down and that gave rise to farming villages. From the Neolithic times people continued to live in farming villages till the industrial age.

Man was attacked by loads of diseases and famines and floods and also wars which wiped out generations. The history of agriculture takes us to pottery and cooking and craft later on so man then had proper food to eat and made homes too. Made villages and farming a lifestyle. Man settled around Ireland around 7000BC. They used trees for wood to burn and build. Agriculture became a strong base. In 4000BC farming began here. They used Stone Age technology for basic living.
As the history of agriculture grew over the years from here to the Bronze Age and through the Iron Age. They also domesticated the cattle, sheep and the horses also. This was like a major invention and lead agriculture places.

Then the history of agriculture grew in the coming centuries and made amazing progress. And major changes overtook this field. Farmers became high tech and biotechnology ruled. Man started creating fields in agriculture and it grew in bounds and leaps. Genetics also took over and laboratories manufactured crops and seeds to suit human needs.

History of agriculture is so vast and detailed and so interesting. Must be explored to the fullest. It has grown from the Stone Age to the bronze age to the industrial age to biotechnology agriculture has taken the world in a storm and ruled ever since.

When we talk of history of agriculture we talk of centuries gone by and a different era in and around 10000 BC. The most interesting part is that agriculture actually started from a region which now is a dessert. Far back in 8000 BC farming started from Iran all around to Iraq further on to Syria all along the valley of the Nile. Then Israel to India from the Nile to Danube in Europe and then to the Indus and Ganges region.

Agriculture is the biggest cultural innovation that happened years ago. Man was basically born a hunter who would be roaming from place to place. And would be eating whatever nature provided them with and some animals and birds too. Agriculture gave man a base and they were no more wanderers. And also they got more to eat than only what they got from the forest.

Then man learnt to tame and domesticate animals and bingo . . . they hit jackpot. You know the pig has been domesticated since last 9000 years. Wow isn’t that a wonder. And then came sowing of seeds, growing and harvesting too. And so came wheat and barley and other cereals. The word cereal is actually the name of the roman goddess Ceres which means grain in general. Man learnt how to grow crops and for better growth they started removing weeds which gave a boom to the crops.

One of the latest developments in agriculture invention is the bio-technology and genetical revolution. Bio-technology and genetics have changed the face of agriculture and farming. New ways and technology has come up in farming with this revolution.

New technology of farming has been developed by scientists and agriculturalists and has been named as urban farming. This is a big step in agriculture invention. Scientists have developed new technique called “hydroponics”, where plants are grown using mineral nutrient solutions instead of the normally used soil. Another new technique is called vertical farming where agriculturalists are growing crops in skyscrapers. This saves a lot of land problems and is a new beginning and a huge step in agriculture invention.

Man and times have grown tremendously in history and so has farming. Agriculture invention is growing as time grows by and it will take man places.

Before this came the grain elevator in 1840’s.it was used in separating the grain from the wheat plant. Soon the cotton gin followed which was used to separate the seeds and the hulls and the other stuff not required from the cotton. This was quite a successful agriculture invention. Man also developed the corn picker.

The most revolutionary agriculture invention was the Tractor which was invented in the 1940’s.this was the time when hand power was transformed into machine power. The tractor took over all manual work which used to take lot of time and energy of the farmers this agriculture invention took farming to a different level.

To add on major agriculture inventions fertilizers were developed in early 1900’s. This accelerated the growth of the crops and produced very healthy crops too. A little later peticides were also produced which helped in killing all the harmful pests which destroyed the crops so this invention brought in a lot of development in agri-products. Open geared gas tractors were also made during this time. Disk harrow which is a machine used to cut the grain stubble which is left behind in the field after harvesting is over was also a big agricultural invention. This saved a lot of manual labor and time too as a machine can work much faster than humans.

Agriculture as we all know is production of agri goods through the cultivation of crops and also by the massive domestication of animals. This study is called agri science. Agriculture inventions have evolved massively by the years as farming and farm machines have grown too in these years. What was done by the threshing machine for so many years has been taken over by the combine.

One of the first agriculture invention was the iron plow used a lot those days in the 1700’s.then came the wood plow in the 1800’s and the iron plow was discontinued as the wood plow was easier and better to use. And then man had a brain wave and discovered the use of animals in farming and tamed horses and used them in the Reaper which was used in harvesting wheat and were drawn by horses.

The Reaper was a huge success as an agriculture invention. After this man discovered he could do more and a little more machinery will be more helpful and work can be done faster and on a larger scale. The cotton harvester came in the 1920’s and it was a rage in agriculture invention. This was used in harvesting wheat on a large scale and really benefited the farmer.

The importance of agricultural practices was further established when ‘Organic food’ began as a small movement decades ago, with gardeners and farmers rejecting the use of conventional non-organic practices. With the growth of the Organic food market now outpacing much of the food industry, many big companies have ventured into it. With the emergence of multi-national companies, and with the creation of a legal certification framework such as the Soil Association, there is every doubt that the very definition of organic food will change, making it more of a commercial activity than ever before!

In fact, modern agriculture has already undergone a sea-change from the ancient times. Today, the importance of agriculture lies in the fact that it is practiced both for subsistence as well as commercial reasons!
